Be careful not to be defined by memes.

I don't know when it started, but we've gotten used to saying "worker" or "beast of burden" all the time. When chatting with friends, it's always: "We're just workers, it's fine."

At first it seemed funny, everyone self-deprecating, relieving stress and feeling close. But later I realized that as we kept saying it, it seemed to become true.

This label unknowingly stuck to us and won't come off. It affects our attitude towards work and life. When something happens, our first reaction isn't "How do I solve this?" but "I'm just a worker, forget it."

Have you noticed? We start to lower our standards with a clear conscience, frantically finding excuses for our inaction.

We think: since everyone else is equally bad, it's only natural for me to be bad too.

I'm not against lying flat. In this era, choosing a low-desire, comfortable lifestyle is perfectly fine.

But the prerequisite is: this lying flat must be a brave choice made after careful thought and weighing pros and cons. Not being slowly boiled like a frog in warm water through the back-and-forth of memes, gradually forgetting who you originally were and who you could have become.
